Perfectionism's Disguise

"At it's root perfectionism isn't about a deep love of being meticulous.  It's about fear. Fear of making a mistake. Fear of disappointing others. Fear of failure. Fear of success."

- Michael Law

Don't let fear walk around disguised as not wanting to show up as anything but your best.

It's good to care about the quality of your work. It's not good to care so much that you become trapped in a never-ending cycle of "I'm not ready, it's not good enough."

Challenge for all you brilliant musicians: how can you break the cycle this week?!

Ideas:

1. Volunteer to play in masterclass
2. Ask to play for a friend
3. Apply to the "thing"
4. Post the recording
5. Call a retirement home and ask if you can give a recital

And remember: it doesn't have to be near perfect to be impactful, meaningful, and additive to our world.
