ANXIETY TO AGENCY GUIDE FOR MUSIC STUDENTS & EARLY-CAREER MUSICIANS

Anxiety to Agency is a free guide that shows music students how to trade audition-room anxiety for a real, workable plan β€” using skills you already have and probably aren't counting.

β€œ

You can play the excerpts. You know the rep. You've put in the thousands of hours.

But somewhere between the practice room and "real life," one question won't leave you alone: What is all this for?

That question hands your future to someone else β€” an audition committee, a hiring manager, luck. This guide flips it. It's built from real workshops with conservatory and university music students who were asking exactly that.

”

WHAT'S INSIDE

The skills reframe that proves you're not "just" a musician β€” and a simple formula to say what you actually do, in one sentence.
The real numbers behind orchestra jobs β€” and why a "portfolio career" is the smarter, more stable bet, not the backup plan.
The 4 pillars every sustainable music career needs. Miss one, and the rest doesn't hold.
One concrete tool you can use today to stop waiting to be picked and start building something.

In This Free Guide, You'll:

  • Learn the one-question reframe that shifts you from anxious and waiting to be picked ("Will I make it?") to in control and building something ("How will I make this work?").
  • Do the Skills Pyramid exercise that reveals everything you bring to the table beyond your instrument β€” most musicians are underselling themselves without realizing it.
  • See the real numbers behind the traditional career path (there are roughly 1,200 full-time orchestra jobs in the entire U.S., period) β€” and the portfolio-career approach working musicians are actually using instead.
  • Walk away with your one-sentence professional bio, using the exact formula and real examples β€” the foundation everything else (resume, website, pitches) gets built from.
