Build your music practice from the inside out — with a planning system that fits how you work
Shipping late December 2026
The Practice with Purpose Planner helps you organize teaching, performing, creating, and building a business—all while staying grounded in what matters most. It's a planner designed specifically for the multifaceted lives musicians lead.
Most planners aren't built for musicians like you
What I hear constantly from musicians who are teaching, performing, and building businesses:
"I'm managing students, gigs, practice time, and trying to grow something online... but I feel scattered. It's hard to see the bigger picture."
"I have so many ideas, but no system for actually making them happen. I'm just reacting to whatever comes up next."
"Every planner I've tried is designed for 9-5 jobs. Nothing works for irregular performance schedules and creative work."
"I'm so tired. I love music, but I'm not sure if all this is worth it."
Sound familiar?
What I want you to know: You're not failing. Your tools are.
Most planning systems start with external metrics—how many students, which auditions, what your social media looks like. They're built for someone else's definition of a successful music career.
But what about what YOU actually want? What kind of life you're building alongside this career? What sustainability actually looks like for you?
That's the gap most planners never address. And that's exactly why this one exists.
.
A complete system made specifically for musicians
The Practice with Purpose Planner is the first planning system designed around how musicians actually work—multiple income streams, irregular schedules, creative rhythms, and the need to balance artistry with business.
But it's not just a planner. It contains resources, tools, guides and checklists grounded in the 9-pillar framework I teach inside Music 360—the same system that's helped hundreds of musicians build sustainable, meaningful careers.
This planner helps you:
✓ Get clear on what you actually want—your definition of success, not someone else's
✓ Organize multiple income streams—teaching, performing, online business, side projects—without feeling scattered
✓ Plan with intention instead of reacting—so you're building toward something, not just surviving week to week
✓ Integrate rest and sustainability—because you can't build a career if you're running on empty
✓ Track both progress and well-being—the metrics that matter AND how you're actually doing
The result? A career that feels aligned, sustainable, and genuinely yours.
This isn't about doing more. It's about doing what matters, with clarity and purpose.
And it's aligning you as a human being to your actions, your multitudes.
Is this planner "right" for you?
This is for musicians who are building multifaceted careers—teaching, performing, creating, building businesses—and need a better way to organize it all. You want to get focused, while staying well in mind and body.
You're done with just winging it, but you also refuse to follow someone else's predetermined path. You want a system that you can actually use for how YOU live and work.
This is perfect for you if:
- You have multiple income streams (or you're building them) and need to manage all the moving parts
- You have vision, and feel productive but can't quite see where you're actually headed
- You want financial stability without sacrificing what makes music meaningful
- You need a planning system that honors both professional goals and personal well-being, as well as your dreams
- You're ready to invest in a tool that will help you build your career intentionally
This probably isn't the right fit if:
- You're looking for a magic solution that does the work for you (this requires engagement and reflection)
- You're not ready to examine what you actually want from your career
- You prefer digital-only tools (this is a physical planner designed for deeper thinking)
The Roadmap
The Practice with Purpose Planner is organized around a 3-section roadmap—the same "inside out" approach I teach in Music 360. This isn't just a calendar with monthly pages. It's a structured path for building a sustainable music career that starts with clarity, moves through intentional practice, and extends outward to how you show up in the world.
Most planners start with external goals and hope you figure out the rest. This one starts with YOU—your purpose, your values, your vision—then helps you build everything else from that foundation.
YOUR INNER FOUNDATION
Start with clarity.
Before you can navigate anywhere, you need to know where you stand and where you're headed. This section includes:
Resources & Worksheets:
- Your North Star (purpose mapping)
- Values clarification exercise
- Roles & Goals framework
- 5-Year Vision planning
- The Path (reverse-engineering your goals)
- Portfolio planning & materials checklist
Why this matters: Your foundation guides everything else. Without clarity on what you actually want and why, you're just reacting to opportunities instead of building toward something.
YOUR PATH
Practice with intention.
This is where strategy meets action. Your path is how you show up in the work itself—how you design practice, build sustainable habits, and prepare for performances. This section includes:
Resources & Worksheets:
- Practice design framework
- Daily check-in rituals
- 10 essential practice tips
- Performance preparation guides
- Mindset & mental game strategies
- Pre-performance routine builder
Why this matters: Intention becomes progress when you have a system. This section helps you practice smarter, not just harder—and build the kind of consistency that actually creates growth.
BUILDING OUTWARD
Share with courage.
You've done the inner work. You've refined your practice. Now it's time to let the world see what you've built. This section includes:
Resources & Worksheets:
- Building outward reflection
- Personal brand & "onlyness" statement
- Performance mindset tools
- Professional presence development
- Digital footprint planning
- Vision-to-action connection
Why this matters: Your outward work connects your artistry to opportunity. This section helps you show up authentically and powerfully—on stage, in auditions, online, and in your career.

Why I built this
I've been a professional orchestral musician for over 20 years. I teach at the university level. I run a digital academy for clarinetists. I founded a chamber ensemble. I created Music 360 to teach musicians how to build sustainable careers. I have a family. I like to cook and travel, and sleep!
On paper, it looks like I've figured it out.
But here's what nobody tells you about building a multifaceted music career: integrating all the pieces is hard.
Seriously, I have tried every system I could find. Planners that don't allow for irregular performance schedules. Artistic journals with no space for teaching or business planning. Productivity apps that made me feel like I was supposed to be productive every waking moment.
Nothing worked because nothing was designed for the way musicians actually live and work.
So I created something that was. If you saw the original Musician's Purpose Planner I released in 2022, you'll recognize the foundation—but this is a complete evolution.
The Practice with Purpose Planner integrates the full 3-section framework I teach inside Music 360—a system I've refined over years of working with students, helping them move from scattered and reactive to grounded and intentional.
This is a safe place to build your practice and your purpose. A place where you can honor each role you play without losing yourself in any one of them. Where you navigate by your own light—your values, your vision, your unique way of moving through the world.
It's designed for musicians who are building careers that don't fit neatly into one box. It has space for both artistry and entrepreneurship, and structure without rigidity. It allows purpose to be built, from mistakes and false steps, and from the knowledge that alignment isn't a bonus—it's essential.
This isn't a planner that tells you what success should look like.
This is a planner that helps you build your version of success, from the inside out.
It's a place to think. To reflect. To plan with intention. Get quiet and enter into a space of non-judgment. To remember why you started doing this in the first place.
If you're ready to stop reacting to every opportunity that comes your way and start building toward something that's actually, genuinely yours—
This is for you.
