Get in touch!

on being a musician, creative and human in our modern world

We've presented about many topics surrounding working and living as a classical musician, and we'd love to share those presentations with you. Our work in Music360, our Thrive membership and the Digital Clarinet Academy is centered around the idea that we must be holistic in our learning and teaching. No musician only practices, and work doesn't exist in a vacuum. We must embrace ideas of wellness, business, self-discovery and so much more in order to truly thrive. We are committed to helping no matter the resources available, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Here are a few of our favorite things:

Thriving as a 21st Century Musician

How do you do it all?! Become an amazing musician and the CEO of your brand, while developing the business and career skills to generate a sustainable income - all while staying healthy in mind, body, and heart? This interactive workshop will give students concrete ways to look at their practice, performance, business, career and wellness.

Practice to Performance Blueprint

Stepping on stage, hitting "publish" or "post" and putting yourself out there is uncomfortable. But it's a necessary step to turning "pro", no matter your end goal. How can we be nimble movers from our practice space to our performance space? How can we make performing part of the learning process? This workshop answers those questions.

The Art of Diving In

The best way to learn something is to Just. Do. It. There's often no other way than to just dive in and just start doing it. Of course sometimes when you start doing it, it doesn't go well or it fails, or you belly flop and it hurts. So you get out and try again, and again and again. You change it up and do it better. You realize: the path is the goal. You realize you learn by doing, and along the way you realize: You can do hard things.

The Creative Habit: Skills for Life

How can we embrace practical skills to empower our learning, practice and lives? In this workshop we cover mindfulness, goal setting, motivation, growth mindset, grit and facing the resistance. Students will leave with tools to help them flourish in practical ways in their creative life.

Finding your Center Within It: Tales of Performance Anxiety

Performance anxiety can manifest in a myriad of ways, and it’s different for all of us. But… what even is performance anxiety? How do we find our center within it? How do we practice in a way that builds confidence and consistency? And, how do we rewrite our stories about performance and practice so that they are empowering and uplifting? In this workshop, we will delve into these questions and more… bring a notebook, an open mind, and handful of honesty!

8 Lessons on the Power of Routine

The reality is, until we get a basic understanding of how to build and maintain routines, we will have a difficult time thriving. In this workshop, we guide students through 8 lessons of routine to help them find consistency and achieve their goals–whether that's to practice more or stick to an exercise routine! Bring a pencil and get ready to answer a few questions about your current habits!

Skill Stacking for Success: Your Skill Pyramid

Most successful musicians went through a period, years, where there was nothing except a burning desire: nothing except drills, studying scores, listening to recordings, going to concerts, recording and intense training. The truth is, as a modern musician, you need a broad range of skills in order to build a thriving career.  In this workshop we will identify and assess your skills, and by the end of class you'll have completed your own pyramid of skills!

Creating Your Personal Brand

Many people think that personal branding is just for celebrities, influencers, or big names. Yet each and every one of us is a brand! In this workshop we’re going to talk about thinking of yourself as a brand. As musicians we are generally self-employed sole-proprietors. Some of us may be employees of an orchestra, or music school, but even those that are, puzzle their careers together with many different activities. As individuals, it’s important to start thinking about what we stand for and how we can communicate it!

21st Century Performance Practice

What skills do we need as musicians in the 21st century when it comes to preparing and performing successful programs? This workshop covers tips for score study, rehearsal techniques, memorization, stage presence and speaking, program curation, improving rhythm… and more.
